WEBSITE REDESIGN REQUEST for PROPOSAL Project Overview NMPRSA is accepting proposals for a redesign of its website. The existing design, navigation and copy of the website will be the starting point for the redesign. Solutions for website hosting may be included. Timeline to launch: August 20, 2019. Organization Overview NMPRSA is the statewide chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), the nation’s largest professional organization serving the communications community with a mission to make its professionals smarter, better prepared and more connected. NMPRSA offers members professional development opportunities, networking and social events, and celebrates innovation and excellence in the industry. NMPRSA is a nonprofit, membership-driven organization with a board of directors based in Albuquerque. The website is a vital component of NMPRSA’s operations and communications strategy. We rely on the site to drive registration for events, encourage membership, share information, and access training and other resources that benefit our members. NMPRSA has no staff, only a dedicated board who have demanding professional commitments. We need a website that is easy to access and update without much training in website maintenance. Audience The NMPRSA website serves as an informational dashboard for our events, services and programs to active members, prospective members and industry professionals. Our audience mostly resides in New Mexico and represents communications professionals spanning every industry sector. Members visit our website for details and registration for our events, information on our annual Cumbre Awards program, to check out our Job Center and get updates on programs such as mentoring and accreditation. Our audience of prospective members visits our website for similar reasons, and to seek information on the benefits of membership and how to apply. Website Objectives Provide easy access to industry and membership information. A primary objective of our website is to give communications professionals information about our services and programs and resources pertinent to the industry. We want a dynamic, interactive, user-friendly site with concise copy displayed in a clean, spacious manner and the ability to display images and graphics in a variety of ways. Drive event registration. NMPRSA hosts monthly luncheons, an annual awards program and other smaller events. Users rely on our website to review the details of events and to register. Our website will need to prominently display our events and link to registration. Event payment is handled through PayPal and should be a seamless process on the website. We want our site to prominently feature our events and make it easy to register. Drive membership sign-ups. Our ability to increase membership sign-ups through an engaging and informative website is a huge opportunity for NMPRSA. Our website should provide information on membership promotions and benefits, and an easy way to join the organization. By being robust, up-to-date and contemporary, we’d like the website to be an effective recruitment tool. Provide access to professional development and jobs. We want our website to be a place where people get added value through shared content, a dynamic and easily updatable job board, the ability to sign up for newsletters, and other services. For example, we’d like members-only access to videos of our luncheons, our membership directory and other exclusive items. And we’d like to be able to develop and send out member surveys. Current Website Our current website is run through the Joomla platform, which is difficult to update, resulting in a site that is outdated, unresponsive, ineffective and visually stale. The biggest challenge we face is the ability to edit pages, navigation, and media with ease. You can visit our current website here: http://nmprsa.org/ New Website Functionality Requirements While many of our users access our website on a desktop, we still want to make sure the site is responsive and can display media, text, menus and other elements on a variety of devices with ease. We would like a strong media library/photo gallery capability. We like to post pictures from our events and being able to better store and showcase those images on our website would be ideal. Having the ability to upload images and other documents that are large in file size would be preferred. We also want to build in SEO options so we can improve our organic search results.
